For a healthy portion of my career I worked for two major consultancies companies: Fjord (part of Accenture) and McKinsey. Both specialize in articulating digital transformations inside large corporations. As a designer in these contexts my role was to define product vision and lead product teams in the systematization of building digital products with quality experience design.
While I served clients from various industries, I mainly focused on those from the financial sector. I've collaborated with and lead teams throughout Latin America and worked in cities such as Bogotá, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Lima, Curitiba and Porto Alegre. I've encountered and managed a range of strategic design scenarios, from the highly sophisticated to the "we have no designers". It was not uncommon to find myself helping a company hire their first designer ever and then structuring a new team in order to design their first well-crafted digital product.
As a designer/consultant, I created value in two ways: working as a hands-on designer, going through all stages of the design process to produce a working product; and building capabilities in the team, selecting and training designers to work smoothly with teams of strategists and engineers.
Below is a selection of the work I produced during this period.
